Meet Heather M. Bassett

Heather doesn't just talk about emotional resilience - She LIVES it! 

Heather was born with two significant holes in her heart and numerous health complications. After weeks of Doctor's doubting her survival, God changed their skepticism, earning Heather the nickname 

“The Miracle Child.”

At the age of four, Heather’s parents divorced and left her older sister and her to live with their Christian militant grandparents. She felt unloved and unaccepted from the abandonment, hearing her grandparents constantly telling her to shut up, her 4th grade teacher and older classmates bullying her, due to her ethnicity, unique eye shape, and loud voice.

Throughout her adolescence and adulthood, these wounds shaped her identity and dependency on attention, affection, and validation to fill the emotional voids. She demonstrated verbal outbursts, was fighting, stealing, running away, breaking cycles of abstinence and becoming a single mother twice, and was addicted to pills and men for decades.

She also... 

• Became a single mom at 20 & 38, naturally birthing 2 9.5 pound girls.    
• For 2 years was torn away from my child - due to a custody battle. 
• Sat alone in the ICU for 2 weeks as my 2 month old fought for her life.
• Standing beside my young daughter through a trauma no child should face. 

These experiences have taught her about emotional control and how to persevere with courage and peace knowing God's right by her side. 

She's also experienced many miracles in her life though too. 

• At the age of 3, she fell from a two story tree house and survived, 
• A driver turned onto the freeway approaching her head on, but the Holy Spirit saved her,
• After being drugged at a night club and blacking out, an Angel saved her life,

These are all stories that can be found in her book, I Love to Live for Jesus.  

She now understands how deeply God loves her and wants other women to know as well. 

Heather also served as a missionary, and an assistant Chaplain at the Sacramento Juvenile Hall. 

Heather loves horses, photography, traveling, paddleboarding, worshipping, and spending time with those she loves.
